Cotting is Different
“Quite simply, we give students opportunities to succeed. Staff members focus on abilities; what the student can do becomes the single foundation for an individualized plan. Because our staff-to-student ratios are strong, programs and activities are tailored to each student’s individual learning style and ability. Each student can receive the intensive and sustained help and support needed to succeed. When students experience success, they have the confidence to try new things and conquer obstacles.”

“Currently, 120 Cotting students ages 3-22 travel each day from 74 cities and towns throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.”

Academic Program
“At Cotting, the term ‘education’ reflects a balance between meeting individual academic goals and fostering social-emotional development. To achieve these goals we offer individualized academic, prevocational, vocational, and social experiences designed to strengthen skills, help build confidence, and enhance self-esteem. The curriculum provides each student with realistic goals for future educational vocational and living experiences.”

HOPEhouse at Cotting School
“HOPEhouse is a 5-day a week boarding program for young adults with an IEP, ages 17-22, who want to practice independent living skills in a supportive community setting. Situated on the Cotting School campus, HOPEhouse serves up to 10 private and publicly funded students and is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Department of Early Education and Care.”
