Ready, Set, Kids!

Ready, Set, Kids!In a new blog series, Boston Tutoring Services interviews local businesses that work with children. This week, we are highlighting Emily Hammond of Yak Academy at Ready, Set, Kids!

Boston Tutoring Services: How long have you been in business?

Emily Hammond: We opened last September, 2014.

BTS: Which age groups of children most commonly visit/attend?

EH: We serve children (and families) of all ages.

BTS: Can you tell us more about the services/programs that you offer?

We have new mom support groups, child development classes for 0-2 year olds, foreign language classes for kids ages 12 months to 10 years old, music classes for toddlers, science classes for preschoolers, and fitness classes for kids, teens, and families!

BTS: What sets you apart from other similar businesses?

EH: Ready, Set, Kids! is a center put together by 3 kids-oriented businesses, so that we could offer an array of high-quality programs. We have a play space, and we have birthday parties, but we are more than just a kids space. We are a place where families learn and grow. Because it is small businesses and organizations together, we get to know our customers like family. All of us who run the programs are moms or moms to be, so we can relate to so many of the families that we see on a daily basis. And of course, if you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work!
