.Boston Tutoring Services contacted local Executive Function and ADHD Coaches to learn more about their experiences working with children with these needs. This week we are featuring Dianne Kosto of Braincore Therapy.
We asked Dianne about her experience and practice:
Boston Tutoring Services: What experience drove you to want to support children with these needs?
Dianne Kosto: My son’s extreme and debilitating impulsivity.
BTS: What types of services do you offer?
DK: Biofeedback And EEG Neurofeedback (Refer out for Holistic Health Coaching-and other services if need be)
BTS: In establishing your practice, what were your goals for providing individuals’ growth?
DK: Providing an alternative to harmful medications and providing hope for those who struggle, that the brain can in fact change
BTS: What sets you apart from other practitioners that offer services for children with similar needs?
Even though we utilize state of the art and university research based technology, we are a relaxed, stress free, comfortable and family oriented environment rather than medical industry
BTS: How do you support the family as a whole, beyond the child’s individual needs?
DK: Refer out as needed and connect due to my personal experience with my son
BTS: Do you facilitate communication between the students’ academic teachers/other therapeutic services to provide a well-rounded support system?
DK: I would love to communicate more and connect with these academic and other providers to be more on the same page. We do obtain records release and send out introductory letters and reports to other care providers to help connect and educate them on neurofeedback and keep them apprised of their patient/client’s progress with Braincore NFB.
