April Vacation 2017 Activities

April vacation is almost there and we know how challenging it can be to find fun events and activities to fill up the week. In our monthly newsletter which can be found here, we highlighted a few of the many events going on in and around Boston. However, since there are so many, we decided to feature other events that will be happening on the week of April 17th. Read below to find out more!

3-D Printing Show at ToysInBox

This unique show is designed to “educate and inspire the K-12 students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.” Participants will be able to:

  • Try a 3D printer to print a small 3D object that you can take homeTry the 3D photo booth and see yourself in 3D
  • Try the 3D photo booth and see yourself in 3D
  • See a 3D printed Nefertiti bust, an icon of ancient Egypt
  • Try on a Cyborg Beast robotic hand
  • Sit in a live presentation on 3D printing

April Vacation Arts and Crafts Workshop

If your child loves to create, this is the perfect workshop for them! Pick one or more days and your child can spend the day painting, dancing and engaging in hands on crafts. As a bonus, there is a sibling discount! Click here for more info.

 

Earth Week at The Mapparium

In honor of Earth Day, activities will be hosted to teach children about endangered species and recycling in a fun and comprehensible way. In addition to these workshops, there will also be drop-in art activities all week long!

 

Wild April School Vacation Week at Franklin Park Zoo

If you’re looking to spend some time outside this April Vacation, the Franklin Park and Stone Zoo will be hosting fun and educational activities including chats with zookeepers, scavenger hunts, and more! Additionally, the Aussie Aviary exhibit will be opening for the season and children can view all the colorful bird and feed them seeds.
