Keep Your Kids Busy This Summer in Falmouth

In our Summer Reading Series for 2019, we will be featuring the summer reading programs of public libraries in different towns from all over Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Let’s take a look at the Falmouth Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.

The Falmouth Public Library has a busy summer planned for local kids! You won’t want to miss these events and much more (all events are subject to change):

Family Unicorn Bike Week at the Falmouth Book Bike – It’s Family Unicorn Bike Week on the Library Lawn at the corner of Main Street & Library Lane. Caregivers: You can also find out ALL about what’s happening at the Main Library as well as the East Falmouth & North Falmouth Libraries this summer.
LEGOs in the Library – All ages welcome! LEGOs will be provided. Please leave your LEGOs at home! Drop in.
Arts Alive – A free 3 day celebration of the arts in Falmouth and the Upper Cape held on the Falmouth Public Library Lawn.
Pokeman Club – Cards, games, and crafts! For ages 4 and up. Drop in.
Summer Eats @ East Falmouth Library – From July 1st-August 21st, free meals for kids and teens will be provided every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between 11:30a.m.-1:00p.m. The Cape Cod YMCA, Project Bread, and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education sponsor free lunches for anyone under 18. The Friends of the Falmouth Public Library are generously supporting this activity.
Research Your Family History with the Falmouth Genealogical Society – Volunteers from the Falmouth Genealogical Society will be available to help get you started with researching your family history. Drop by anytime between 2-4 pm. Discover the great resources the library has to offer and learn from local genealogy experts during our weekly help sessions.
Aliens: Escape from Earth – During a midnight meteor shower, something mysterious falls from the sky toward Earth — but it’s not a shooting star. Two curious kids venture into the forest to investigate and find themselves mixed up with a family of visitors from another planet! Pursued by a crazy space scientist, they must risk everything to rescue the aliens and get them back to their spaceship — before it’s too late! Don’t miss this action-packed and educational alien adventure using science experiments for special effects. It’s totally out of this world! Sponsored by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.
Summer Reading Program: Knucklebones – Family Field Day outside on the Library Lawn, weather permitting. All ages encouraged to come out and play! Sponsored by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.
Dance Party – Lots of music, movement, and fun! Geared to ages 1-5, drop in. This event is sponsored by the Coalition for Children.
