Opening Day for Swan Boats 2024
When: Saturday 4/13/24 at 11:00 AM
Where: Boston Public Garden, Boston Common

Cost: Adults $4.50 | Children $3.00 (age 2 to 15 years) | Seniors $4.00 | Under 2 yrs. Free
Mayor Michelle Wu, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Paget family will host the first ride of the season on the popular Boston Swan Boats as they open for the 2024 season at the Boston Public Garden lagoon.

Patriot’s Day in Lexington
When: Saturday 4/13/24 through Monday 4/15/24 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Where: Lexington Common, Lexington, MA
Age: all ages
Cost: free
Patriots’ Day weekend commemorates the opening battles of the American Revolutionary War. It is a joyful celebration, a street theater experience, and you get the glimmerings of what it must have been like on that chilly April morning as the Red Coats advanced on the Common. There are battles, concerts, tours, reenactments, road races, food, ceremonies, and a parade.

April School Vacation Program at JCC in Newton
When: Monday through Friday 4/15/24 to 4/19/24 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Where: Jewish Community Center, 333 Nahanton Street, Newton, MA
Age: grades K-9
Cost: Grades K-5 $145/day $140/day |  Grades 6-9 $105/day $100/day
Children in grades K-6 can enjoy arts, sports, or both at the JCC Kid’s Choice April school vacation program at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton for their spring break. Children can choose from sports, arts & crafts, jewelry making, games, dance, cooking, board games, and more. Whether they’re learning new skills or making lasting memories with friends, vacation camp is the perfect way to make the most of their time off school.‎‎

2024 April Science Vacation Week at MIT
When: Monday 4/15/24 through Thursday 4/18/24 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Where: MIT Museum, Gambrill Center, Cambridge, MA
Age: kids, teens
Cost: included with museum admission
Come on your own, with friends, or bring the whole family to the museum for a special week of programming. Get hands-on with real engineering tools and equipment as you create your own light-up acrylic display! Using our laser cutter and other maker tools, work together to build a personalized keepsake.

Sensory Friendly Morning at the MIT Museum
When: Thursday 4/18/24
Where: MIT Museum, Gambrill Center, Cambridge, MA
Age: kids, teens, adults
Cost: free–pre-registration required
The Museum is pleased to offer a dedicated morning for visitors who would benefit from a sensory-friendly experience. You’ll be invited to enter the Museum an hour before opening to enjoy our 3rd floor galleries with a limited number of visitors. We’ll reduce ambient noise during this time, creating a calm space, and also provide sensory maps and a social story to help guide you.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift
When: Friday 4/19/24 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Where: Greater Boston Stage Company, Stoneham, MA
