Lowell Summer Music Series 2025: Free Fun for Kids

The 2025 Lowell Summer Music Series is the 35th year of presenting live music in beautiful, tree-lined Boarding House Park, located in the Lowell National Historical Park and surrounded by the historic Boott Mills. As a self-sustaining nonprofit, 100% of Lowell Summer Music Series earnings and donations go directly toward bringing world-class performers to Lowell at affordable prices. Your support also helps keep their other events—Free Fun For Kids and the annual Banjo & Fiddle Contests—free to the public, all set in the beautiful, historic Lowell National Historical Park.

The 2025 Summer Free Fun For Kids: Lowell Summer Music Series lineup has been announced. This summer, you can visit the park Wednesdays and Thursdays in July and August for free family fun, featuring live music, exciting performances, arts and crafts, free snacks, and more—perfect for a summer day out with the little ones. Here’s a closer look at the lineup.

  • Wednesday, July 9th: DINO-MAN! With magic, merry mayhem, and magnificent props including inflatable dinosaurs, the audience is taken on a trip throughout the Mesozoic era. How do we know dinosaurs were here? What is a fossil? How are they made? This program is fun and informative for all ages.
  • Thursday, July 10th: CURIOUS CREATURES. A hands-on interactive live animal show for all ages! Get up close and personal with exotic reptiles and other animals from around the world, including a turtle, snake, lizard, alligator, and chinchilla! This engaging show lets parents and children alike handle the animals, while educating in the process.
  • Wednesday, July 16th: THE YO-YO GUY. John Higby is The Yo-Yo Guy! He has performed his unique high-energy comedy yo-yo show in 26 countries from New Zealand to Japan, holds the world yo-yo champion title and 4 Guinness World Records. The Yo-Yo Guy is an interactive performance with yo-yos, unicycle, and a giant yo-yo that John walks on! This show is great for all ages!
  • Thursday, July 17th: MATT HEATON & THE OUTSIDE TOYS. Matt Heaton believes music for kids can be entertaining for both children AND parents. His songs are a mix of rockabilly, surf, American roots and Irish traditional music, delivered with a wry sense of humor and a sincere sense of fun. Whether you call it children’s music, family music or toddlerbilly, it’s sure to please listeners of all ages.
  • Thursday, July 31st: THE RED TROUSER SHOW. An amazing, eye-poppingly brilliant physical performance from the internationally trained and toured duo known as The Red Trouser Show will leave you in awe! Routinely winning accolades and awards from all over the world, this physical comedy team made up of Tobin Renwick and David Graham will take your breath away! Do not miss this show!
  • Wednesday, August 6th: ROBERT CLARKE, MAGICIAN. Boston Magician and Juggler Robert Clarke started performing at the age of 16, training in “The Suspenders,” a juggling group from his hometown on Cape Cod. Robert began learning juggling, magic and comedy skills and it was then he knew that this was the beginning of his career. He performs all over New England and beyond.
  • Thursday, August 7th: BABY ANIMAL PETTING ZOO. The Baby Animal Farm features lambs, baby goats, piglets, chicks, ducklings, and baby bunnies. A knowledgeable attendant will introduce you to the animals and help the children to feed, brush and hold them. Our attendants will answer questions and make sure everyone including the animals are having fun!
  • Wednesday, August 13th: GOOD NEWS GUS. Singer, emcee, puppeteer, and magician — Harry and his monster friends are always the life of the party. Harry and Good News Gus has received accolades from both party-goers and professional groups alike. With young and old, Harry’s high-energy interactive entertainment is sure to bring laughter, energy, and warm, fuzzy feelings!
  • Thursday, August 14th: MARIANA IRANZI. Mariana is a native of Argentina, professional bassist, children’s music composer and educator graduated from Berklee College of Music. Her show is fun and educational. The assorted flavors of reggae, folk, rock, blues, bossa nova, tango and South American rhythms make the perfect blend for a multicultural recipe the entire family will enjoy.
