Abbie Tyler

Education:

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interaction Design, Northeastern University, 2023

Abbie specializes in Math instruction for students in grades PreK-12. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University (expected August 2027). In addition to providing Math tutoring, she is serving as a Research Assistant for Biofeedback Intervention Technology for a Speech Lab at NYU Steinhardt, where she is administering language screenings for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As she continues her career in Speech Therapy, she enjoys developing Math activities that access all learning styles. She has also worked with students with behavioral and emotional needs who are struggling with Math concepts.

Abbie started tutoring in high school through her Math Team’s after-school tutoring events, where she helped her peers work through tricky problems. She rediscovered that enjoyment in grad school, where she was reminded of just how impactful it is to give kids the right tools to watch their confidence grow. Math was always her favorite subject growing up, and the skills she’s built in grad school have shaped how she connects with and supports her students today. Outside of tutoring, Abbie loves to ski, bike, and hang out with her tuxedo cat, Mittens.
