Alanna says: “Hello! I am a passionate educator who loves building connections with students and making learning engaging. During my time as a teacher, I have developed a passion for fostering a love of learning in students while providing the support and encouragement they need to succeed academically. I believe that when students feel emotionally supported, they are better equipped to take risks and engage fully in their learning. I continually analyze data to adjust my teaching strategies, identify areas for improvement, and tailor lessons to support every student’s growth. I am also trained in the Science of Reading, specifically Orton-Gillingham, which has further enhanced my ability to support students with diverse learning needs, particularly in reading and phonics instruction. This research-based approach has allowed me to build more effective, individualized plans for students who may struggle with traditional reading methods, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed. On a personal note, I am a big Boston sports fan, love to travel and spend time on the beach in Martha’s Vineyard, and spending time with my friends, family, and dog. I am looking forward to partnering and working with you!“
