She is experienced in working with students with special needs, including ASD, ADHD, and emotional needs. She enjoys developing curriculum to engage learners of all ages, and strives to make her lessons hands-on and engaging.
Alita says: “I was drawn to education through my family, who always pushed me to explore what I was interested in, both within and outside of school. As the oldest sibling in a large family, I fostered a love of learning in my younger siblings, further strengthening my desire to help others. In my spare time, I love to do anything artsy, including painting, jewelry-making, and embroidery. My current project is making birthday crowns for my nieces and nephews! I always make sure I have a book on hand, usually historical fiction, fantasy, or medieval non-fiction. I love to explore Boston, whether it be a new park, cafe, or simply a new place to stroll.“
