Amelia tutors students in grades 5 through 12 in English Language Arts (she currently teaches AP Literature), and has also taught college-level English courses. She prepares students for the English sections of the MCAS exam. She has experience working with students with special needs, including ADHD/ADD, dyslexia, behavioral/emotional disorders, and other learning disabilities. She is experienced in working with students on Executive Functioning Skill support. She specializes in improving students’ writing skills and holds a certification in Advanced Placement Language and Composition.
Amelia loves teaching and working with students for countless reasons. Specifically, she loves seeing students’ gradual progress each day, as well as the sense of pride students feel when they see tangible improvement in their own skills. Furthermore, Amelia loves the English content area through its ability to instill empathy in people and broaden our perspectives. Outside of the classroom, Amelia is an avid theatregoer, both as an audience member and performer. While her heart unsurprisingly lies with Shakespeare, Amelia also loves musical theatre, too. She looks forward to working alongside your family to ensure your child’s success!
