Additionally, she is experienced in working with students with special needs, such as ADHD and other attentional disorders. Avery is currently pursuing law school and enjoys instructing her students in research, organizational skills, and the foundations of writing. She enjoys developing personalized materials to meet the specific needs of her students.
“Avery grew up in Austin, Texas, and now lives in Allston. At Yale, she studied economics and environmental studies, and worked as a research assistant on a Department of Energy-funded study on renewable energy adoption in Connecticut. Writing is her biggest passion. She is working on a mystery novel, so she teaches writing as a working writer who still revises her own drafts. Avery became interested in tutoring through her experience teaching Mandarin at a Chinese immersion pre-school program. She continues to speak Mandarin, and is trying to learn French as well. Outside of tutoring, she loves baking, discovering new music, and reading.“
