She has also prepared students for all sections of the SAT test. She enjoys developing personalized activities to engage her students. Bakari is currently serving as a Research Technician at Harvard Medical School, and she enjoys teaching and tutoring students in a hands-on and interactive manner. She also speaks Spanish in order to communicate with ELL families.
“Growing up the oldest of 6 siblings, Bakari learned early on that every child learns differently. Most kids just need the right kind of encouragement to succeed in the subjects that don’t come as naturally to them. Bakari came to college on a four-year Posse Scholarship and was later recognized as an Emerging Leader on campus. In her free time, she loves to dance, play flag football, and cheer on the LA Lakers. She also loves to travel, with Brazil and Ghana as favorite destinations from her volunteer work, and at home she keeps two pet turtles.“
