David specializes in middle school instruction, supporting students in grades 5-8 in Math, Social Studies, and English Language Arts. He is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience working with students for whom English is not their first language. He prepares students for all sections of the ISEE and SSAT tests. He previously worked at charter schools in New Jersey and later in school administration in Boston Public Schools. Currently, he is serving as the Chief of Staff on the Equity and Inclusion Cabinet within the city of Boston. He has experience working with students with a wide range of special needs, as well as implementing IEP modifications. Additionally, he has participated in a variety of speaking engagements, serving as the moderator, facilitator, speaker, and panelist on a range of educational and leadership topics.

Born in Boston, David is the son of two Boricua parents—an educator from Puerto Rico and a police officer from Villa Victoria in the South End. A proud graduate of Boston Public Schools, he is an educator, organizer, consultant, and coach with over a decade of experience in education and city government. David’s commitment to educational equity was sparked at a young age. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Gordon College, he spent five years teaching Math and English as a Second Language in Camden, New Jersey. His time in the classroom deepened his awareness of systemic barriers affecting students, inspiring him to pursue a Master’s in Urban Education with a specialization in Education Policy from Temple University.
Driven to create change at the policy level in his hometown, David returned to Boston, where he spent over two years as an Outreach Director and advocate before reentering schools as a Boston Public Schools administrator during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Grounded in the belief that sustainable change requires a collaborative, community-driven approach, he worked closely with educators, students, and families to navigate unprecedented challenges.
Currently, David serves as Chief of Staff in the City of Boston’s Equity and Inclusion Cabinet. In this role, he supports executive directors in developing strategies that operationalize equity across departments, ensuring teams work effectively and with intentional impact. Beyond his professional work, David is deeply connected to his city. Whether exploring New England’s walking trails, playing recreational sports, or enjoying spoken word poetry, he thrives on building relationships and fostering community. He’s also an enthusiastic foodie—always open to new restaurant recommendations and happy to share a few of his own.
