Education:

Master of Science in Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, 2024

Bachelor of Science, Johns Hopkins University, 2024

Jonas tutors students in grades 8-12, as well as at the undergraduate level, in Math (through Algebra II, Geometry, Stats, and Multivariable Calc), Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Biomedical Sciences. Currently a Process Engineer for Thermo Fisher Scientific, Jonas has extensive experience in biomedical engineering. He enjoys breaking down complex Math and Science concepts in order to make them accessible for his students. He has worked with students with a wide range of needs, and enjoys developing personalized materials to meet the specific needs of each student.

Jonas’ passion for teaching comes from a deep belief in collaborative learning—he works closely with students to ensure they not only understand concepts but can also demonstrate their proficiency. By breaking down complex math and science concepts, he helps students gain confidence and a deeper understanding of the material.

In addition to his academic background, Jonas has achieved notable accomplishments, including placing 2nd in Design at the 2022 International Baja SAE Arizona Competition and securing Top Ten at HopHacks 2022. He was also a finalist in APL NetHacks 2022 and received 1st place at the NJ Academy of Science for his oncology research on C. elegans. Outside of tutoring, Jonas enjoys staying active, playing ice hockey, skiing, and rock climbing. He is also an avid fan of Chelsea FC and enjoys outdoor adventures, including hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking. He has traveled across 48 states and backpacked through Europe, and when he’s not exploring the outdoors, he spends time with his husky.

Jonas’s personal and professional experiences shape his tutoring philosophy, which is built around guiding students toward their educational goals while fostering a love for learning.
