Karlaes tutors students in grades 6-10, specializing in Math (through Geometry and Algebra II) and Science. He is currently serving as a middle school Math and Earth Science Teacher, and also tutors students in Physics. He is experienced in working with students for whom English is not their first language (he is bilingual in Spanish and English), as well as students with special needs (including ADHD, ASD, and dyscalculia). He enjoys developing personalized materials and curriculum to meet the specific learning needs of his students.

In his free time, he enjoys going rock climbing, reading classical literature, baking, and watching college wrestling.
