Rebekah tutors students in grades 1-6 in Math and English Language Arts, and she also tutors students at all grade levels in Biology. She is currently serving as a Research Technician at Tufts University. Additionally, she is fluent in Korean, has served as a Korean translator, and previously taught at universities in Korea (in ESL and undergraduate Biology). She is experienced in working with students with learning disabilities and enjoys developing personalized materials to adapt her teaching approach to each of her students.
Rebekah says: “Hello Parents! My name is Rebekah, and I am excited to be a tutor with Boston Tutoring Services. I currently work as a Research Technician in a neuroscience lab, where I study how the brain regulates metabolism and energy balance. My background in neuroscience research has given me a strong foundation in biology and science, and I have also had the opportunity to tutor students in both the United States and South Korea. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of adapting teaching strategies to meet each student’s unique learning style. As a visual learner myself, I understand that concepts do not always click right away, which is why I enjoy breaking down challenging material into smaller, more manageable steps and helping students find learning approaches that work best for them. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and developing a deeper understanding of the material. To me, tutoring is about more than academics—it is about helping students become confident, independent learners. One of my favorite parts of tutoring is seeing a student gain confidence and realize they can understand material that once felt difficult. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, watching movies, exploring Boston, taking workout classes with friends, and spending time with dogs whenever I can.
