He is experienced in working with students with a wide range of special needs, including students who are nonverbal or have severe emotional needs. He is also a certified personal trainer and has coached basketball and lacrosse. He enjoys developing personalized curriculum to meet the specific needs of his students.

Ryan says: “I love learning, but I didn’t always love school. I became a teacher to help students, like me, to fall in love with the learning process. As a teacher, I’m constantly asking myself two questions: First, ‘How can I make this easier for students to understand?’ Second, ‘How can I make this more fun for students?’ I connect with each of my students personally and I pay close attention to their needs – both those that they state and those they don’t. I believe that kids don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care about them. I’ve written a book about the science of intrinsic motivation (curiosity) and I am in the process of writing my second book about what I’ve learned while teaching. I look forward to helping your student achieve their academic goals in a way that builds their confidence, their work ethic, and their love of learning.”
