Cissy has over 30 years of experience in education and has been teaching for over 12 years, specializing in working with students in grades five through eight, in math and English language arts. She served as a Math Teacher in Brockton for the last 11 years. She’s experienced in MCAS preparation. She has worked with students with a wide range of special needs, and is experienced in customizing her curriculum to individualize her instruction for her students. Additionally, she enjoys art and cartooning.
Cissy says, “I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and had some excellent teachers who served as role models for me. I took some time to raise my family, then worked in instructional staff positions in different school districts. When the time was advantageous for me, I became a fully licensed teacher and knew I’d made the right decision. I have enjoyed my time in the classroom!
As for hobbies, I love plants; they are my other children! I have several that are over 40 years old! I also enjoy cooking and my favorite food is dark chocolate. Lastly, since I am allergic to animals with fur, I’ve developed a fondness for reptiles, specifically bearded dragons, iguanas, and savanna monitors, and have raised many over the years. I also love chickens!”
