This Holiday Season, Please Consider Giving Back

Are you willing to spread the holiday cheer this year? Boston Tutoring Services is happy to promote organizations who help people in need. There are plenty of fantastic organizations that give all of us the chance to give back, and the holidays are always a time of year in which people need some extra help. Times have been tough for all of us this year, but if you are able to help those less fortunate, please consider the following organizations for giving back this holiday season.

Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless

The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless partners with public schools to assist students whose families are at risk of becoming homeless. A gift to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless provides hope to low-income families and individuals who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Your support will help fund innovative programing that can make a difference this holiday season.

The Greater Boston Food Bank works passionately to end hunger across Eastern Massachusetts by providing those in need the healthy food and resources they need to thrive. Catie’s Closet

When COVID-19 mitigation measures resulted in nationwide school closures and economic lockdowns, Catie’s Closet stood as an essential provider of basic necessities to local families in need. In normal circumstances, our model serves students within their schools. To meet the immediate and growing need of students and their entire families, we quickly adjusted to provide critical clothing and toiletries outside of schools to lessen the burden of rising unemployment and a deeper level of poverty. Our Holiday of Giving program is designed to take the guesswork out creating an impactful volunteering opportunity.

Emmaus

At Emmaus, everybody matters. They know that homelessness can happen to anyone and increasingly affects families. They strive to affirm the value of human dignity and self-respect for every person in need—the homeless, disadvantaged, disabled, unemployed, and oppressed. Emmaus provides both immediate assistance and long-term solutions through emergency shelters, affordable housing, job training, and more.
