Brian says: “Hi! I’m Brian. I’ve been tutoring students off and on for over 10 years. The foundation of my approach to tutoring is in communicating with the student about how they connect with the material. There are countless avenues into any given subject, and understanding the student’s goals, as well as how they perceive their strengths and limitations, is key to picking the right path forward. If I can get them to be candid, I can get them to be earnest, and if I can get them to be earnest, I can get them to be confident. Outside of teaching, I’m a musician and a big ol’ nerd! I love making music, eating good food, and playing every type of game under the sun. The dreamer in me took the reins recently, so I went back to school to study guitar over at Berklee! Hopefully someday you’ll get to point at the back of an album someplace and go ‘Hey! this guy taught me derivatives!’ For fun, I’m big into Super Smash Bros Melee and Magic: The Gathering, and with my family, and I play a lot of big board games like Scythe or Eclipse: Second Dawn.“
