Caleb has been teaching for six years, and tutors students in grades 8-12, as well as at the undergraduate level, in English Language Arts, History, and Philosophy. He has an extensive background in developing curriculum, including at the International Baccalaureate and AP levels. He is experienced in test preparation and supports students with the verbal sections on the ACT test. Additionally, he tutors Spanish (beginner and intermediate level), Currently, he is pursuing his Master of Theological Studies at Boston College. Throughout his teaching experience, he worked with students with a wide range of special needs, including ADHD and dyslexia.
“Caleb’s approach to tutoring and teaching is grounded in his own past experiences as a ‘difficult’ student and his belief that all kids can and want to learn if empowered to do so — convictions reinforced throughout his five years in Kansas City Public Schools. Caleb attributes (almost) everything he knows about writing to his time reporting for and editing his college newspaper, The Review, and his educational philosophy is best summed up by his belief that every student should graduate high school with the skills to write an op-ed for their local newspaper (and to read and appreciate Shakespeare!). In his free time, he enjoys reading good fiction, cooking, running, cycling, playing/watching/coaching tennis, and rolling around on the floor with his two cats, Pickle and Hazelnut.“
