Colleen says: “Hi everyone! My love for teaching and tutoring came in high school when I was teaching youth sailing, along with other sports. I loved finding new ones to show individuals how to master a new skill and seeing their excitement and pride in themselves! From there, I found a love for helping students in academic settings, starting with community tutoring programs at local schools in college. I have worked in private tutoring and school districts with varying needs and have seen the importance of individualized and personalized instruction to help students feel successful and have their needs met, as well as to help students feel challenged and stay interested in school! I enjoy finding new ways to engage students in their learning and help them find their internal motivation for learning. My goal is for students to feel successful in their learning, understand the material at a deeper level, and to feel more confident in themselves as a student, friend, and member of the community around them! Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being by the ocean, and hiking! I am excited to take this journey with you and your family!”
