John specializes in English Language Arts and History for students in grades 4-12. He has been teaching History, Social Studies, and English for nearly 35 years. He also supports students in elementary Science. He is experienced in working with students with a wide range of special needs, especially behavioral needs. He has also prepared students for the MCAS test and taught English to ELL students from China. Additionally, he has served as a soccer coach for many years in Massachusetts.
John says: “My goal as a teacher is to help students improve their academic abilities and to inspire them to be active learners, developing their interests and strengths while identifying and working on the areas that are more difficult for them. I work to bring my own enthusiasm for education to my students. As an active reader, writer, and student of the world, I strongly believe that education leads to a richer and more fulfilling life, and I want the students I work with to understand that the effort that they put in now will be rewarding both in their years in the classroom and beyond.
