Kerry specializes in early education, and has taught students in grades K-6 for over 10 years. She currently serves as a 2nd grade Inclusion Teacher, and previously served as an ESL and Special Education Teacher. She has extensive experience modifying her instruction to meet the specific needs and IEP goals of her students, including students for whom English is not their first language. She has been trained in Orton-Gillingham through the Institute of Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE). Additionally, she is trained in administering a wide range of assessments and curriculum methods.
Kerry says: “What I love about teaching is being able to work with kids and help them explore the ways that they learn best. Learning is such an exciting and often vulnerable process, and it is a privilege to sit alongside students as they navigate and learn more about their own learning styles. In my own classroom, I am constantly thinking about different entry points for my students into new content, and I would love to be able to do that with my students that I am tutoring. In my free time, I love to read, write, and go hiking. I have recently spent some time backcountry hiking in Teton National Park, and it is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been!
