Michael Wickwire

Michael tutors students in grades 1-8 in all subject areas, including English Language Arts, History, Math, and Science. He is experienced in working with students individually and in small groups, supporting learners at all ability levels. Currently, he works as a freelance videographer and editor, and served as a Digital Media Intern during his time at Boston College. He enjoys connecting with his students to determine their specific learning styles in order to best meet their needs.

Michael says: “Initially I got into tutoring as a job on the side, but quickly realized how much I enjoyed helping students learn and achieve success in the classroom. Getting to know each student individually and working alongside them to overcome their academic struggles and become the best versions of themselves has become a very fulfilling mission. A little more about me, I grew up playing soccer and basketball, loved watching movies, and spending time with my friends. My family also had a small dog when I was younger and would often spend time traveling to see family. When I got to college, I got into long-distance running and ran 3 marathons, including 2 Boston Marathons. Currently, I train MMA and continue running, as exercise and fitness have become a priority in my life. I’m always looking for new ways to challenge myself and enjoy trying new things outside of my comfort zone.”
