Nick Attkiss

Nick has been tutoring students in Mathematics for over eight years, and works with students in grades 8-12 as well as at the undergraduate level. Additionally, he tutors students in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and Music Theory. He is experienced in SAT and ACT test preparation for the Math sections.

Nick says: “I am a passionate mathematics instructor and student with a deep appreciation for the artistry of mathematical reasoning. When tutoring, I emphasize the ‘why’ over the ‘how’, providing glimpses of real proof-based mathematics to inspire curiosity and passion in my students. Math is so much more than rote recipe-following, and when a student’s eyes are opened to math’s true beauty, they become incredibly motivated to discover more. In addition to my love for teaching, I have been an avid classical pianist for 17 years, and find music and math to be beautiful in very similar ways. I also love to rock climb both indoors and outdoors.“
