Rachel tutors students in grades 5-12 in English Language Arts, History, and Social Studies, and middle school students in Science. She has been teaching for 15 years, and enjoys working with students with a wide range of needs. She has experience working with students with various behavioral/emotional needs, including ADHD and anxiety. Additionally, she has extensive experience working with students for whom English is not their first language. She also serves as a library assistant and enjoys developing personalized materials and selecting appropriate and enjoyable reading materials for her students.

Rachel says, “After college, I joined Americorps and had the opportunity to work as a teaching assistant in various classrooms. I realized I loved helping students learn and decided to go into teaching. My approach to education focuses on using encouragement, clear instruction, and students’ strengths and interests to support their learning. I enjoy trying out new recipes, reading good books, and going for walks to explore new places. I also love spending time with my sleepy dog, Max and my extra large cat, Scrapper.
