Yisel supports students in middle school and high school in the admissions process, including admission essays, interview coaching, parent statements, and all aspects of private school and college applications. She is a native Spanish speaker and tutors students at all levels, and also works with students for whom English is not their first language.

Her college advising has helped students gain admittance to Barnard College, Bates College, Boston College, Bowdoin College, Brown University, Colby College, College of the Holy Cross, Hamilton College, Haverford College, Lafayette College, Pomona College, Skidmore College, Swarthmore College, Union College, University of Rochester, Wesleyan College, and Williams College. She has a thorough understanding of the various components involved, including essay writing, interview preparation, and selecting the right schools. Furthermore, Yisel helps students showcase their unique strengths and experiences, ensuring their applications stand out. Establishing rapport with students is a crucial aspect of Yisel’s approach as a counselor. She understands that building trust and meaningful relationships is the foundation for effecting learning and support. Additionally, Yisel recognizes the importance of involving families in the educational journey. Yisel maintains open and consistent communication with parents and caregivers, providing updates on progress and addressing concerns promptly. By fostering strong relationships with both students and families, Yisel ensures a collaborative and supportive approach that maximizes student success. She was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Queens, New York; as a first-generation student, she has personally experienced the transformative impact that tutoring can have on a child’s life. In her free time, Yisel enjoys traveling, nature walks, watching sports, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and working on personal passion projects.”
