.In our Summer Reading Series for 2019, we will be featuring the summer reading programs of public libraries in different towns from all over Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Let’s take a look at the Winchester Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.
The Winchester summer reading program for children ages 4-12 began on June 25th and ends August 21st. If kids are not reading independently yet, they can sign up with a reading partner(s). If they are reading independently, they can still get credit when someone reads to them, but the library does want them to do some of the reading themselves. Children must come into the Winchester Public Library to sign up, but signup continues until the first week of August. There are many stand-alone programs that complement the Winchester library’s Summer Reading Program; some of these are drop-in, but some require registration. There is also a reading program for teenagers that can be done online.
