Residents and visitors are invited to view the City of Boston’s official commemoration, enjoy the Boston Pops Spectacular televised performances, and participate in Boston Harborfest programming. In addition, Boston’s historic sites, museums, and other tourist attractions are excited to offer additional fun and educational ways to celebrate the Fourth of July in Boston.

Hydrangea Festival
When: Friday 7/5/24 through Sunday 7/14/24

The annual Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival returns with a 10-day festival celebrating the iconic plant that makes the Cape so stunning during the summer. When you visit, pick up or download our self-guided tour through the grounds to discover more about Heritages’ 8 species of hydrangeas and over 170 exceptional cultivars. Stroll through the newly expanded North American Hydrangea Test Garden and the Cape Cod Hydrangea Society’s Display Garden.

Children’s Arts & Crafts Workshops in Boston Parks
When: Tuesdays through Fridays from 7/9/24 through 8/16/24, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS participatory program is pleased to announce the return of its series of Arts & Crafts Workshops giving children the opportunity to express their creativity while working on fun projects with local artists. From East Boston to West Roxbury, kids ages three to ten can enjoy a wide variety of arts and crafts activities at the workshops held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in parks across the city.

Lowell Summer Music Series Kids’ Shows 2024

Enjoy free performances for kids at Lowell’s Boarding House Park on Wednesday and Thursday mornings and will include arts and crafts by Lowell National Historical Park, children’s books from Project LEARN, healthy snacks from our natural foods sponsors, and a free stage performance.

Sensory-Friendly Sunset Picnic Hour
When: Thursdays from 7/11/24 through 8/8/24 at 5:00 pm
Where: Weir River Farm, 140 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham, MA, 02043

Cost: $15 Adult / $10 Youth
Welcome to the Sensory-Friendly Sunset Picnic Hour at Weir River Farm! Live music, local food, craft brews, and the South Shore’s best views. This program offers a dedicated hour with a reduced number of guests and quieter sensory-friendly environment. Anyone that would benefit from a limited capacity visit is welcome. Come listen to live music at a decreased volume while enjoying delicious food and drinks from local food trucks and breweries. Pack your picnic blanket and chairs and relax with your friends and family while watching the sun set over the Boston skyline.

Free Shakespeare on the Common 2024: The Winter’s Tale

Inflamed by jealousy and convinced that he is right, Leontes’ torment causes a storm of loss. Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale is a captivating parable of betrayals, renewed hope, and the transformative power of time.

Cirque du Soleil presents OVO

KidsFest at The Lot

Don’t miss our first Kidsfest at The LOT in Southie this July 27th from 12-5PM! Bring the whole family for a day packed with games, art, and science.
